Mechanical vibration - Measurement and evaluation of machine vibration - Part 3: Industrial machinery with operating speeds between 120 r/min and 30 000 r/min (ISO 20816-3:2025)

Abstract

This document describes the general requirements for evaluating the vibration of various industrial machine types with operating speeds between 120 r/min and 30000 r/min. This document provides specific guidance for: a) assessing the severity of vibration measured on bearings, bearing pedestals, or housings of industrial machines when measurements are made in-situ. b) measuring radial shaft vibration on coupled industrial machines. Criteria are provided for assessing the machine vibration. One criterion considers the magnitude of the observed vibration; the second considers the changes in the magnitude.
