Protective gloves for firefighters; German version FprEN 659:2025
Abstract
This document defines minimum performance requirements and test methods for firefighters' protective gloves. This document applies only to firefighters' protective gloves which protect the hands during 3 types of firefighting activities: structural fires, wildland fires and rescue. 2 Types (structural fire and rescue) of firefighters' protective gloves are not intended for deliberate handling of liquid chemicals, but provide some protection against accidental contact with chemicals. This document does not cover specific protection against other hazards encountered during special operations within firefighting service e.g., chemical, biological, radiological and electrical hazards. These aspects may be covered in other European and/or international Standards.
