Acoustic quality in rooms - Specifications and instructions for the room acoustic design
Abstract
This document establishes the acoustic requirements and planning guidelines to ensure acoustic quality in rooms, primarily for speech communication, including the necessary measures. This document is applicable for ensuring acoustic quality in spaces with a volume of up to 5,000 m³, and for sports and swimming halls up to 30,000 m³. It distinguishes between spaces in Group A for medium and large distances, such as classrooms and conference rooms, and Group B for audibility over short distances, such as circulation areas with amenity value and cafeterias. This document is not applicable for spaces with specific requirements, such as theaters, concert halls, cinemas, sacred spaces, or for high-quality recording areas, such as studios and control rooms, music performance rooms, and is not applicable for residential spaces.
